Who we are

Frank and Cherie Byrne established Frank Byrne - Builders construction business partnership in March 1993. 

In 2020, with Brooks Byrne and Simon Bruning, we formed BYRNE BUILDERS GOLDEN BAY LIMITED. Brooks and Simon are not only family members but have been an integral part of our successful business for 10+ years, respectively. 

The new company is currently managed by Frank, who maintains the day-to-day running of the business through client consultation and on-site construction management, while Cherie continues with the general administration for the business. Brooks and Simon share the responsibilities of the company with us as we move forward and will eventually take over the full shareholding of BYRNE BUILDERS GOLDEN BAY LIMITED in 2025/2026. 

Our team

We have a fantastic team of qualified builders, several of whom are also Licensed Building Practitioners. Under the guidance of our qualified builders, we continue to advance apprentices through the building trade as they become an invaluable part of our Team.

Our health and safety commitment

We have implemented a Health and Safety programme through Site Safe NZ Ltd, with Jaimie Bruning involved in site H&S administration. We are committed to the health and safety in the workplace for our staff, both physically and mentally.

Byrne Builders have recently received PreQual Health and Safety Certification.

What we do

Our scope of work spans residential, rural, remote, commercial, and community projects across Golden Bay and beyond, with notable clients including Fonterra, the Department of Conservation, and the Ministry of Culture & Heritage.

We are proud to be able to continue to provide excellent workmanship to our clients and have gained an enviable reputation for our building projects since 1993. We have a strong client base and a good working relationship with various sub-contractors and suppliers involved in the construction business, both locally and further afield.
